A circular watering hole, this picturesque oasis can quench one's thirst only in the winter, as poison from the surrounding plants seep into its waters the rest of the year. The then brackish waters are so placid they reflect the desert sky, as not a single living thing will disturb its surface.
The Floodlands

In the spring this plot of land floods with water from the rains and connects with the subterranean Trinit River, creating a fertile, vibrant oasis that brings in more than just animals, but giant insects.

The Snakebend

The Snakebend is a shallow spring that flows all the way out to the sea. When the herds move out beyond the badlands for the summer, the tribe fishes around the estuary for the season. The rest of the year this spring is sadly teeming with sea snake spawn, which only move to the sea in autumn, and return to lay eggs in winter.
The Crying Stone

From the center of this pond comes a pillar of stone, trickles of water running down the grooved surface. This spring only weeps in the midst of autumn, when the geyser within finally blows, the pressure slowly ebbing from its tear-worn face.
The Red Well

A lone palm is the only sign that this well is near, its springs a much needed drink as it may be the furthest from any water or shade within the Barrens. Many a desperate soul has wandered here in the dead heat, and should they lose their way in the sands while trying to find it, the outlook may be grim. The exact location is not known, as only those who've wandered far from any trail get lucky enough find it, and return to tell heat-stroked stories of it.
